Springtime is a great time to springboard our energy levels in the right direction and balance our “life force!” When we make a commitment to ourselves and provide motivation for our family and loved ones, we are setting a good example which can actually add life to our years and years our lives!
The big step is making the commitment and arming ourselves with knowledge in an effort to create an abundant, healthy and happy lifestyle, all while taking care of the temple in which our spirit resides. It can be done!
Humans, as well as everything in the universe, consist of information and energy. This energy that flows through us is called “Chi” by the Chinese, “Ki” by the Japanese, “Prana” by the Indians, or “Rauh” by the Hebrews. All of these terms refer to the life force, or universal energy of nature, God, or the divine source of all creation…whatever you wish to call it.
When this flow of energy is blocked, we become stressed, or dis-eased. Continued or increased blockage over a period of time leads to illness, and we begin to experience symptoms of pain and breakdown of our physical bodies. This is the beginning of the process of aging. The good news is, we now know how to reverse the process of aging by removing the blocks and releasing the stress, which is the leading cause of disease and premature death, no matter how old we are or how blocked we may be. When stress increases the triglyceride levels in the blood, it clogs the capillaries and interferes with oxygen delivery by the red blood cells.
When your body’s cells efficiently obtain all the oxygen needed for full functioning, many benefits occur, including the release of fat via carbon dioxide. In simple terms, the right kind of breathing delivers the right amount of oxygen to the cells which helps people get rid of excess fat, boost metabolism and increase energy, among other positive results.
In recent years, substantiation of clinical studies from Tufts Medical, Harvard Medical, the Mayo Clinic, and UCLA, have concluded that the power behind the practice of the ancient arts of Tai Chi & Chi Kung, has had a major impact helping people who suffer from heart disease, fibromyalgia, depression, sleeplessness, arthritis, and even those who have experienced strokes. Furthermore, studies indicate there is improvement of balance, concentration, focus, and stress elimination on the spot, anytime, anywhere, with the slow fluid graceful movements, along with the proper breathing techniques of this art form. We call it “meditation in motion!”
The Feb 2012 issue of Prevention magazine, gave credit to this form of art for reducing stress, having a powerful effect on metabolic syndrome, decreasing blood pressure, and trimming waist size by at least an inch, according to a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
After receiving numerous grants from The National Parkinson’s Foundation, we have facilitated the teaching of this art to their group of Parkinson’s patients. We have watched the transformation take place among their students and their caregivers in the Parkinson’s class. By the end of the first year, one could not determine which participant was caregiver or patient/student. Of course, everyone will achieve different results.Additionally, we provide classes and certify professional Tai Chi /Chi Kung Instructors, with hands-on training, privately, as a group, or even distant learning.
If you appreciate the life you have been given and are interested in optimal health, we invite you to one of our classes. The first one is FREE, compliments of IT’s YOUR HOME Magazine and it is open to the public. Come join us, grab your husband, your wife, your girlfriends, your golf buddies or everyone at the office, springboard your energy levels and have fun!
